Pianist and conductor Yoni Farhi was born in Tel Aviv. He has performed as piano soloist and conductor with Israel’s leading orchestras. He served 2006-2013, as Assistant to the Music Director of the Haifa Symphony Orchestra.
A recipient of the prestigious Gina Bachauer Award from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, he appeared in numerous festivals in Israel and abroad. He recorded for the Israel Radio and Television. He plays chamber music with Israel's finest artists. He has performed Gala Recitals with Sir James Galway. He recorded CD for Meridian label with Soprano Keren Hadar and Horn player Alon Reuven, he recorded for Summit Records with IPO principal players- Igal Meltzer and Daniele Morandini and with Eyal Ein Habar and Dudu Carmel ("Centaur") .
He was heard in Austria, Belgium, Britain, Germany, and Poland.
Yoni Farhi studied the piano with Mrs. Hadassah Biribis, Prof. Pnina Salzman and Prof. Emanuel Krasovsky. He studied conducting with Prof. Noam Sheriff and composition with Prof. Sergiu Natra. He studies in Berlin Staatsoper conducting under maestro Daniel Barenboim (2011-2012).
He holds the Master of Music degree (summa cum laude) from the Buchman-Mehta School of Music, Tel- Aviv University.
A faculty member at Tel-Hai International Piano Master Classes since 2006, he also teaches post-graduate courses at the Levinsky Teachers College, Tel Aviv.
